Caravan Awning Spares And Other Caravanning Essentials

Recreation & Sports Blog

Even if you are new to caravanning you probably already know there are certain essentials that simply must come along on your adventures on the road. From caravan awning spares to portable gas bottles, this checklist will help you to ensure you always have all the items you need, from creature comforts to the most critical.

Water Containers

Most caravan sites offer taps from which to obtain fresh water for drinking, showering and washing up. The last thing you want is to turn up on site with nothing to carry your water back in. You'll need a number of water containers in varying sizes so that you can fill your water tank when you arrive and also have some spare containers for emergencies.

Caravan Steps

Most caravans come with their own steps, but if you do have to purchase a set always make sure they are on board. If you forget to bring them you will have a potentially large and dangerous drop to navigate every time you want to leave your vehicle.

Caravan Awning Spares

While an awning isn't necessarily an essential item in itself, you'll need some caravan awning spares in case your awning becomes damaged or unattached from your van. Poles, clamps and ropes are just some of the caravan awning spares you should consider. These are easy to procure online and will ensure your awning gives you reliable protection against the rain and the sun.

A Spirit Level

While you probably won't be doing any DIY in your caravan, a spirit level is still a very useful item to bring along. Placed on a flat surface within your caravan, your spirit level will tell you whether you've pitched up on a flat and stable area or you need to consider another location.

Spare Gas Bottles

A gas bottle is one of the most obvious items to bring along on a caravan holiday, but what about spares? If you are planning to visit caravan sites without an electric supply to hook up to or you plan on using your gas cooker a lot, a spare is a very sensible idea.

Gas Barbecue

You can't always guarantee that the weather will be good on your adventures, but a portable gas barbecue will ensure that you can make the most of the sun when it shines. These can be picked up at most caravan accessory shops and will run from your standard gas bottle.

These are just some of the accessories and essentials you might want to consider to have on board your caravan at all times. You'll find everything from caravan awning spares to gas bottles at your local caravan store or online.
